It's never too late to dedicate time in support of Minor Hockey.....

The Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds were formed back in 1970. The club's motto of "DEDICATED TO PROMOTE & DEVELOP MINOR HOCKEY" is still the main focus of all the club's endeavors. The club operates many fundraisers throughout the year, and has to date donated well in excess of two million dollars back in to the hockey community in Medicine Hat, Redcliff, and district. Some of these projects include the major expansion and renovations to the Hockey Hounds Rec Centre. These items include such things as improved lighting, new boards, a brand new public address system, improved dressing rooms for referees and new flooring. The Hockey Hounds are also proud sponsors of one of the premiere annual major bantam tournaments held in Canada. Featuring teams from Western Canada as well as the United States. The club also assists in hardship cases throughout the minor hockey system. In addition, the Hockey Hounds are proud sponsors of the Major Bantam team as well as four other house league teams ranging from Mighty Mites to Bantam. The Hounds were proud to host the inaugural Purolator Cup back in 1981, and the last one in 1991. The Purolator Cup was the original Major Bantam Championship of the four western provinces. The Hounds also venture their sponsorship into other major sporting events such as the 1992 Canadian Slo Pitch Championships and the 1997 Canadian Little League Championships. The Hockey Hounds are pleased to once again to be associated with the Western Hockey Leagues' Medicine Hat Tigers Hockey Club. In joint projects, the Hockey Hounds will assist the Tigers in raising money for the Tigers Education Fund. In an effort to provide incentive and encourage young players to continue their hockey careers locally the Hounds contribute to many scholarship programs at the Medicine Hat College where players, referees and coaches are eligible to obtain monies to further their education.

Contact our President for more information on how you can become one of many that enjoy the game and want to give something back.
